Secop supports OEMs as a strategic partner, from compressor selection to system development. Following this approach, Secop has prepared three Application Guidelines for hermetic R290 (propane) compressors: Food Retail, Food Service, and Special Applications. Together they cover 30 applications, from supermarket freezers to hot water heat pumps.
Each application has its own matrix. Rows list compressor models from the KL, N, S, NLV, and SLVE series in fixed-speed (FSD) and variable-speed (VSD) versions. Columns show unit sizes, expressed in the measures manufacturers already use: meters for display cases, liters for reach-in refrigerators, number of doors for preparation tables, and kilograms per day for ice makers. Each intersection shows which compressors fit a given size.
The guidelines also include new projects and models under development: KLF3.0CNT, NLE11DNDX, and KLF6.6DND.
This first edition covers the main applications and Secop's latest-generation R290 compressors. Secop will expand it based on customer feedback.

The guidelines provide general direction, since the right compressor depends on the specific system. Before the final choice, Secop recommends contacting its team of application specialists. The team is also available for joint development projects to maximize system performance and optimize final costs.

Printed copies will be available at Chillventa 2026 in Nuremberg, October 13–15, Hall 4, Booth 129. The Secop team will walk visitors through the guidelines and present recent launches and upcoming projects. Feedback collected at the fair will shape future editions.
