Nidec Corporation sold Secop to ESSVP IV in September 2019. ESSVP IV, advised by Orlando Management AG, is a private equity firm with a long and successful track record in developing businesses in the industrial sector.

On August 1, 2017, Nidec acquired the German compressor manufacturer Secop.

Secop – More than 60 years. In 1956, the production facility and headquarters were founded in Flensburg, Germany.

New generation of energy-efficient propane compressors. New variable speed platforms for household and light commercial applications.

Secop acquires ACC Fürstenfeld Austria. Secop takes over ACC Austria / Secop Austria GmbH in early 2014 and begins operations on January 7.

Introduction of the XV compressor. Opening a new chapter in refrigeration history.

Acquisition by AURELIUS AG and change of name from Danfoss Compressors to Secop.

Production facility in Wuqing, China, founded.

Production facility in Zlaté Moravce, Slovakia, founded.

200 million compressors produced.

Introduction of TLV variable-speed compressors. Setting the standard for less energy consumption by variable speed control starting devices.

150 – Million compressors produced.

Production facility in Crnomelj, Slovenia, founded.

Introduction of compressors for R600a. Start of production of natural refrigerant compressors by using more eco-friendly R600a refrigerant grade isobutane, making a valuable contribution to protecting the environment.

100 million compressors produced.

Introduction of BD compressors. The start of standard setting performance for mobile freezers and refrigerators safeguarding food preservation.

Introduction of SC compressors and PTC.
The birth of a standard setting platform in the light commercial market.

Start of production in Flensburg.

Production facility and headquarters in Flensburg, Germany, founded.
Introduction of the PW compressor.

Introduction of “Pancake” compressor. The licensed manufacture of hermetic compressors has begun. Due to its “flat” appearance the compressor was named “Pancake”, influencing strongly the development of refrigerators in Europe for household appliances.
