ARBS (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services) once again proved to be a key industry event, attracting more than 10,200 visitors and 300 exhibiting companies and organisations across 19,000 m² of exhibition space, according to the organisers.
This year’s exhibition strongly focused on energy efficiency, smart buildings, refrigerant phase-outs, and indoor air quality, highlighting the industry’s commitment to sustainable and future-ready solutions. The event showcased a wide range of technologies and products, from domestic air conditioning and light commercial refrigeration to large-scale industrial cooling applications, as well as components, tools, and solutions for the entire HVAC&R sector.
Secop works closely with the leaders in refrigeration distribution and supplies compressors to Airefrig, Beijer/Kirby and Reece/Actrol branches across Australia and New Zealand. In total there are over 300 branches in the region dedicated to the supply of refrigeration and HVAC equipment with Secop being a major supplier to the local OEM and the aftermarket for service replacement needs.
During ARBS 2026 the Oceania Secop representative Alan Green (based in Sydney) was available for the Secop distributors to assist with any customer enquiries. There was also a need to clarify for customers the evolution of the Secop compressor business, which, with compressor heritage dating back to 1956, has continued supplying industry-leading compressor platforms and model references recognised by customers throughout the industry. Since 2022, Secop has been supplying compressors directly to distributors under the Secop name and has local representation on hand to swiftly answer technical or other queries. Airefrig Australia had a focus on new and innovative products at ARBS 2026, which allowed Secop to showcase first-hand some leading-edge products this year.
Secop's cooling solutions showcased by Airefrig Australia, focused on high energy efficiency and eco-friendly refrigerants:
Together with Airefrig Australia, Secop received a very positive response throughout the event. The booth attracted strong interest from potential customers, technical school educators, and engineering professionals, all showing great enthusiasm for the innovative technologies and solutions presented by Secop. The strong engagement demonstrated Secop’s growing reputation as a trusted and forward-thinking partner in energy-efficient refrigeration and cooling technology.
There was a lot of interest in the apple sized DC compressor, the BD Nano which recently surpassed one million pieces of production at Secop China plant. A large number of these compressors are fitted in EV for the centre console cooling boxes. There are many portable box manufacturers (fridge/freezer) using the BD Nano series under various brands marketed by the camping and 4WD retail stores across the region. The ultra-low temperature (ULT) cascade condensing unit was of particular interest as Australia and New Zealand are high level medical facility countries and are at the forefront of vaccine and IVF cooling/freezing product developments.
