The story of battery-driven compressors began in the late 1970s, when mobility and independence were becoming increasingly important. Introduced in 1977, the BD compressor was initially based on the PW design and later refined with TL technology. Engineered to operate on 12- and 24-volt DC, it enabled reliable cooling in caravans, buses, trucks, and yachts for the first time. The name “BD,” meaning “battery driven,” soon became synonymous with dependable mobile refrigeration and food preservation.

A modern milestone followed in 2022 with the launch of the BD Nano compressor. Despite being significantly smaller and lighter than earlier models, it delivers the same cooling capacity while saving space and reducing weight.

Secop BD compressors mean: extraordinary performance at minimum power consumption, superbly silent running, reliable operation even when tilted up to 30 degrees, problem-free operation at 12/24/48 volts.
